The Newborn Photography Session

With the arrival of each newborn the hearts capacity expands exponentially. I am so honored to capture the essence of this love in my newborn photography sessions.  From every tiny detail and wrinkle, to the greater story canvasing the growing family my goal is to create images that a heart can hold…ultimately, I want to create images just as you remember seeing and feeling!

To achieve this heartfelt baby imagery, I focus on a few key ideas ahead of every session….

Keep it Natural

Be Mindful of Light

Focus on the Connection & Emotion

It is these three simple prospects that make images natural, authentic, and beautiful!

newborn photographer andover10 I am continuously intrigued by the onset of siblingship during newborn sessions.  From the first moment they meet siblings hold a special relationship.  One that is reserved solely for each other, a role of guidance and comraderie, a lifetime of laughter and of course some trickery.  It is a uniquely fitting love.  Check out theses precious images of the oldest in his first moments fitting the role of big brother.

In the glowing light, I photographed this lovely maternity session.  There is something so special about awaiting the arrival of your first baby.  I don’t know if it the hope or the happiness or the anticipation of what’s to come that makes it so great, or maybe the mixture of all of those things together… I could barely wait to get home and peak at the images that I snapped on a night like this, with this beautiful love before my lens!

3 things to remember for a great maternity session

Let go- you have to to open up and release that bottled mixture within

Dress simple- I think what I love about this session- they look like themselves

Bring your Dog- they make us all happy!

If asked, my kids would tell you that number two in the top 10 things I love, is light…just behind them of course.  MY van really needs a sticker that says “I stop for Sunsets.” And this one was beyond stunning.  It was brilliant in every way.  We pulled aside, watched the light and enjoyed a halting stop in our busy day to breath in this magical wonder before us.  As we looked on, we realized that off in the distance in a small patch of inlet grass, their were families sitting together sharing in this beauty as well… Sunset seeking as a community activity in a new viewing place that I told my daughter…would be our special spot.  If there is one thing my light seeking teaches my kids, it is to appreciate the beauty before them…letting it feed their spirit and lighten their soul.
